Lecture on varmam at PSG Nursing College, Coimbatore

As part of Continuing Nursing Education, PSG Nursing College, Coimbatore (http://www.psgnursing.org/) has requested Arts Research Institute (ARI), Coimbatore to provide senior faculty member to deliver lecture on 'Art of Varmam - An Indian Medical System'. As part of their curriculum, post graduate nursing students are exposed to alternate therapy systems.

On 12th February 2010 (Friday), Mr. C.Manoharan, Honorary Advisory Board Member, delivered lecture on varmam detailing the treatment pattern of varmam medical system, its cultural, custom and traditional values, simplicity and usefulness to the public and the society, low cost of treatment, discussion on various therapies like normal delivery, etc. It was followed by an interactive question and answer session. The total program during was for 2 hours (3.30 PM to 5.30 PM).

The program was attended by Principal, Vice Principal, Staff Members, Post Graduate Nursing Students of PSG Nursing College, totaling about 50 participants. The PG Nursing Students were informed about the Trainee Medical Nurse program offered by Arts Research Institute to enhance their knowledge on application of varmam therapy to the patients.
